Valentines Week: Comfy Maxi Dress

Photography: Rachel Morse

Maxis are so comfortable and easy to throw on. They're an effortless way to look like you tried a little more than you did. This dress is great for a casual Valentines Day with your friends, but I also wear it to go shopping a lot because it's easy to take on and off when you're in the fitting room.

Valentines Week: Red Lace Dress

Photography: Rachel Morse

If this dress doesn't say va va voom I don't know what does. It definitely shows off the curves and cuts low. Wear this one for a hot date and maybe after a few crunches ;)

I couldn't find this dress online in this exact color or for the deal I got it for, but I did link to the exact dress in coral and in black.

Valentines Week: Floral Cutout Dress

Photography: Rachel Morse

Flowers are fun and girly, but the fit and cutouts make this dress a little edgier. This is the perfect option for a hot date, or better yet catching someone special's eye out on the town. Everyone will be wearing red and pink. Stand out with a pattern.

Valentines Week: Black Cage Dress

Photography: Rachel Morse

This dress is great because of the cage detail, but really any little black dress is a good choice on Valentines Day. If your dress is more simple than this one, add a statement necklace or a fun bag to make it more interesting.

Valentines Week: Neon Maxi

Photography: Rachel Morse

This week is going to be dedicated to Valentines Day outfits. Whether you have a hot date, are going out with friends or doing something more low key I have an outfit for it!

This maxi dress is very versatile. It can be worn on a date, out to a bar or to something more relaxed by dressing it down with a jean jacket.

Pink is perfect for the holiday and the low back adds a little va va voom. If you want to cover up a little more I linked a dress below by the same brand but with capped sleeves, no see-through skirt and a slit on the side. It looks a little more dressed up and adult, but still sexy... I guess you could call it "grown sexy" (any Bachelor fans? :)

Loafers are a great way to dress up an outfit without having to wear heels. I came across a ton of super cute styles ranging in prices so I decided to do a save/spend comparison. A lot of the time I have a huge preference of more expensive items, but the cheaper versions I found are amazing!

Try not to buy them all ;)

Bikinis for Body Types: Bottoms

Links:

Last post I showed you the most flattering tops: smaller tops for smaller cup sizes and bigger tops for bigger cup sizes.

Bottoms are a different story. If you have fuller hips you want to have a smaller bottom to make your hips appear smaller. For smaller hips larger straps help to make you look curvier on the bottom.

However, the rule with patterns/frills/lighter colors applies to both your top and bottom. The more of these things you add to your top or bottom, the more you will appear fuller in that area. So for example, if you wanted to look smaller in both your chest and bottom you would want to pick a dark suit with no patterns or frills.

Bikinis for Body Types: Tops

I  just did a post on working out for Spring Break so I thought it would be appropriate to do a bikini post. What better way to motivate yourself to workout than to buy a bikini?

Above I listed the best tops to wear for different bust sizes. I actually purchased the red triangle bikini since I fit in the "small on top" category... AKA the Itty bitty titty committee.

The two Victoria's Secret halter tops are on my want list. Their bikinis always help to create a little more lift.

Skinny Picks: Workout Gear

Spring Break is fast approaching. Cute workout clothes can help with motivation to get to the gym. I like to keep it fun and bright with a few neutral pieces that pair with anything.

1) This water bottle makes me drink so much more water. It's something about the rubber straw.

2) These ear buds are a little pricey but have amazing sound. Here are some cute pink ones for $12. Music is a must for me when working out. Otherwise I get so bored!

I'm currently loving Timber by Pitbull and Ke$ha.

3)  In love with these colorful headbands from VS Sport!

4) How great is this workout tee? Victoria's Secret knows whats up.

5) When I do yoga at the gym I use the mats they provide. They cannot be sanitary. Need to get this one asap.

6) These shorts are perfect for running or lifting. They have a thick comfy elastic band and a looser fitting bottom for movement. I don't like shorts that are tight all over because I feel naked. These are the perfect fit. They're also on sale for $35! All of my Nike gear I wear for years and years. Great investment.

7) Love this grey 1/4 zip from Old Navy.

8) Love the design on the fold over of these yoga pants. I own these Nike leggings and they are perfect for yoga or running.

9) These sneakers are amazing. I own Nike frees and wear them to run, lift, class and anywhere where I want my feet to be happy and comfortable.

10) These sports bras are by Champion for Target. Love the colors and the quality for how inexpensive they are.

Skinny Picks: Valentines Day

I apologize for the lack of posting! I have been interviewing for big girl jobs and have been putting all of my energy into that. I landed a second interview next week so I may not be back into the full swing of things until after that.

In the meantime, you can check out some of my picks for Valentine's Day. It's all about impressing your man on V-day. Guys don't get fashion so I kept it simple with solid colors. They also like to see your body so I chose a little more body conscious fits but nothing too much so you leave a little to the imagination ;)

Bonus- everything is under $50!

Skinny Picks: Forever21 New Arrivals

Sharing some recent "wish list" items from Forever21. I love the colors in the plaid shirt and have been searching for gold stackable rings just like these. I'm also a sucker for a soft stretchy long sleeve. Eek go buy these things so I won't.

Outfit: Winter Gray

 Photography: Rachel Morse

Winter is a great time to pull out your darker pieces as they are more appropriate than in the brighter Spring and Summer seasons. However, I start to feel gloomy dressing in gray, navy and black, so I threw in a fun, colorful necklace.

I follow a few other blogs that were playing around with "winter brights" and loved the idea. It starts to look monotonous when everyone on the street is dressed in dark coats.

Skinny Picks: Old Navy Basics

Links:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4

I apologize for the lack of posts the past few days I have been under the weather! Normally this means I would spend time in bed resting, which would give me time to post, but I had so much to do I couldn't rest.

Today I wanted to post about Old Navy. Over the years I have bought a few items from them that I have worn over and over again. My number one standout item that I bought a few years ago is a military jacket. They are still making the same jacket this many years later and I think I like this one more than mine, although they are almost identical. The only difference is mine has a hood. But so many people ask where I got my jacket from and when I tell them Old Navy they freak.

Another great item is a distressed jean. I remember when they became popular and my mom refused to buy me jeans with holes in them because it didn't seem to make sense. She told me that it was a silly trend that would go out of style. Little did she know it's still acceptable to have hole-y pants!

A stripe shirt is always a must. It goes with any and everything for so many occasions. I don't think I have to go into much detail.
The cargo pants look awesome paired with the camel colored booties. I have never owned pants like these but I am always looking for a different kind of pant that aren't jeans and aren't too colorful. These seem to be a good balance.

A

Outfit: Green with Envy

 Photography: Rachel Morse

Are you tired of seeing these leather leggings and heels yet? I've posted them quite a few times now, but I get so much use out of them. Not only are they adorable, but they're both so comfy. The leggings have an elastic waist and are really stretchy so you don't feel uncomfortable in them. The heels are the perfect height and don't cut into anywhere weird on my feet. But what really makes the outfit is the necklace. It's on sale online (link below) so snatch it up while you can!

Outfit: Tribal Tank

Photography: Rachel Morse

I don't usually wear words or pictures on my clothing, but I like this tribal skull and it makes a boring outfit more interesting without much effort. The side of the shirt has a big armpit hole that shows off my entire torso so I layered another grey tank underneath. If you're feeling like showing off more skin a bandeau could work.

A

Skinny Picks: Sheinside sweaters

This is the cutest clothing site that I completely forgot about until today. Everything is so affordable and the clothing doesn't look cheap.

It was hard to decide what clothing items to highlight because there were so many great pieces, but I decided to do a sweater post because of this gloomy weather. They are one of the few things I look forward to in the winter... that and pumpkin spice lattes.
Did I mention all of the sweaters below are $35 and under?!

Outfit: Simple Stripes

I live in this dress. It is so comfortable I could wear it to bed. I got this a little while ago on sale and while searching for the link I found a ton of the same dress but with slightly different features. Ugh now I want all of them. It is the easiest dress to throw on and look like you tried at least a little. I've worn it as a beach cover up, shopping, lounging, movies, dates, you name it. It's called a "swing dress" according to ASOS, and I get why. It has the greatest material that I can't describe... it's kind of bouncy or something. But it really does make you want to spin (or swing) around!

XOXO,
A
